Hansell Mountain Homes commits to build homes for our clients that are creative and unique. We use sound business practices to manage costs and schedule. We constantly communicate during every step of the build. We answer our phones, texts & emails! We define budgets and schedules without surprises. We deliver top quality workmanship and pride ourselves on being the experts for our clients regarding design, materials, budget, schedule management and staying ahead of the most current technology and design trends.
Our Story
Jeff Hansell grew up in a homebuilding family, learning hands-on about construction from the ground up. With a degree in Construction Management from the University of Washington, he started building homes in the greater Puget Sound basin in 1981. Having built many hundreds of homes from Seattle to Mount Vernon, Jeff’s ability to create interesting and unique designs while staying focused on quality & budget became his hallmark. Active in the Builder’s Association, Jeff has recorded accomplishments at the local, state and national levels. In 2003 he literally helped to write the book on residential construction with the “NAHB Residential Construction Performance Guidelines” that created a national quality standard for all homebuilders to follow. These standards are still in use across the country today. Jeff has testified in front of the state legislature on many occasions as an expert to help guide new laws, rules and regulations. He served as President of the State Builder’s Association in 2006 and was elected to the State Builder’s Hall of Fame in 2013. Jeff started building in Suncadia in 2004 and re-branded as Hansell Mountain Homes in late 2024. Jeff believes in his team’s ability to deliver a great client experience so much, he’s staked his name on it!
Living Local
Jeff and his wife Lori completed their first personal residence in Suncadia in 2005, one of the original homes in the Resort. They moved to Suncadia full time in 2010 so they could focus on building solely in Suncadia, Tumble Creek and Upper Kittitas County. Jeff and Lori are now residents of Tumble Creek and continue to stay focused on making Suncadia and Tumble Creek the premier destination community in the Pacific Northwest.
Living in the community in which you build has a unique perspective as a homebuilder. Jeff likes to say “We get to know all of our clients, many who become close friends. When we drive by, they wave, and they use all of their fingers when they do”!
